Cannot remove inline image from table cell

Once an image is placed in a table cell, placing the caret next to the image and pressing Backspace or Delete will delete the entire table. Right-clicking on the image gives no editor options. The only way to remove the image from the cell is to delete the entire row or the entire table and recreate it all.

I just found that the image can be deleted, but you have to put the caret in the cell next to it, and then press the arrow key towards the cell until it's highlighted. Then pressing Backspace/Delete will delete just the highlighted cell. What was happening was that, when I clicked in the cell that contained the inline image, it was highlighting the entire table. Which feels like a bug to me.
