Tell me about your high impact job please

Hey everyone. I've only recently learned about EA and am so excited to meet other engineers looking to have an impact with their careers.

I'm a mechanical engineer in the US with 4 yoe working at a utility and trying to figure out what I'm going to do next. I would love to talk to some people and ask about their high impact jobs.

Welcome to the forum and the community!

My job is finding engineering problems in the animal welfare space and then figuring out how to solve them. It's a pretty new role, so don't have loads of outcomes to show off yet, but hoping to write about some projects soon.

That's a great idea.

I'd like to hear from someone working in indoor air quality and someone working on climate-related issues, whether that's decarbonization or alternative energy research or anything else

I think it would also be interesting to hear from people who are engineers working in high-impact roles that aren't necessarily engineering roles. Some examples I can think of are people working in policy roles where a technical background is needed, entrepreneurs, and project managers.
