Windows 11 is now the supported Windows version for Open-Motion and Open-LIFU

[dblizinski]

Starting with the next Open-Motion release, we're dropping Windows 10 from our supported platforms. Windows 11 is the only Windows version we'll test and support for Open-Motion and Open-LIFU. Linux and macOS support doesn't change.

Why: Microsoft ended Windows 10 support in October 2025, and it no longer gets security updates. Testing on one Windows version lets our small team put more time into features and fixes for everyone.

What this means for you:

• Current releases may keep working on Windows 10, but we won't test there or fix Windows 10–only issues.
• The READMEs and docs.openwater.health now list Windows 11.
• If your lab PC runs Windows 10, plan an upgrade to Windows 11, or use Linux.
