We never had those, unless you mean extended descriptions that were there for like 1-2 versions? But we replaced them with character-specific lorebooks, since they work better, given how you can easily control them to be active only during specific chats. |

Thanks in advance for any help and for this great front-end.
I had thought Marinara Engine (ME) used to allow toggleable elements in the Persona Card editor. E.g., do a baseline version of the character, then add in a toggle for fantasy-style description, a detective description, or a bartender-style, etc. I may be misremembering, but I have a distinct memory of being impressed by the fact ME had that out of the box. Now, as of 2.4.2 it definitely seems completely absent.
I find this very useful in SillyTavern, I use dmitryplyaskin's Persona Management Extended, for example. Basic goal is one place to edit all persona information, and have it visible (scrolling is OK), and be able to toggle different elements on or off, saving of course when a toggle is changed (or toggle alone generates autosave?). Often I'll do multiple passes refining a persona, especially when I test a new scenario/character.
All I want is the ability to optionally semi-statically (on RP start) always add different text in to the persona; I don't generally play with stats much, so some kind of agentic injection is massive overkill; even macros would seem a bit like a blunderbuss for a mosquito. And lorebooks would be a bit like having a baseball bat but being blindfolded (powerful, but massive switching to different sections of the UI so cumbersome and very easy to forget things).
If this never existed, would it be possible to add? If it did would it be worth restoring? Is there an extension that now exists that would permit it? Professor Mari seemed to think it had never existed (and grepped through code; very very cool); various other AI's have indulged me with different random hallucinations. Here's Dmitry's ST extension just for reference.
