Youtube "Sort by: Upload date" stopped working recently

Question

When trying to find recent uploaded videos or for circumventing Googles awful algorithm that will inject completely irrelevant garbage that has nothing to do with a given search query, sorting by upload date (most recent) used to give great results.

Google removed it a while back, apparently, but i have been using this feature (which was still working in Revanced) until it broke a couple of months ago.

Is there a patch available that can fix this, and if not, might there be a way to implement it?

I realize this is a feature request and should be submitted in the revanced-patches repo.
However, this is not possible since this repo is currently unavailable?
