Call behavior enhancement request

Hey,

Right now, if I call someone from the mobile app, I get to the purple window (call context) where I can tap on Go to app. When doing so, I get back to the app and I have no way to get back to the call context easily.

A great idea would be to integrate with Android to let users tap on the top bar, that becomes green during a call (like normal calls and other softphones do) to get back to the call context.

Also, when on the buddy page during a call, I see that there is an active call, but the button that's support to get me back to the full screen call context (to arrows point at the opposite of each other) don't do anything. Testing on several devices, I get the same behavior. This button could get the user back to the call context too, which would be pretty intuitive.

All these and more have been addressed in the next release due out in the next few days.

Im not that familiar with the "top bar, that becomes green during a call" - we have a bunch of old Android phones here, so this may be something more modern - ill see if i can look out for it.

I am going to make a video soon and send it to you guys so you know what this is about. I have no clue what this is called in the SDK, so better show you directly!

So, we where delighted to see that you could deeply integrate with Android's call interface, and we initially build the phone around this, but noticed that players like WhatsApp, did not... it seemed strange to us why they would not use such an amazing and feature, until we realised to things... 1) Very few OEM providers surface these features, so while Google develop Call Manager into the Android OS, very few providers bother to use or enable it, so the users simply cannot call unless we develop custom call screens, so we did, just like WhatsApp did. 2) Then there is the enable setting... for Call Manager to integrate with your app you have to have "human" settings switch to on... there is no API, and no grant for this. Its messy and confusing. So in the end we just went the WhatsApp way.

I understand the considerations that made you select this avenue. Sounds legit now that I know a little bit more too.

Here's another video of a weird behavior I'm encountering during a call (briefly described in my top post). I thought that going outside the app and taping the persistent notification during a call would bring me back to Siperb's call manager window, but it doesn't.
