KS1 maths, science, reading, writing outcomes (NPD): how have ECHILD/other researchers coded these? #10

Hello!, I am wondering if you can direct me to any papers/other places where ECHILD or other researchers have coded the KS1 outcomes in the National Pupil Database? Have you or others created a score (incorporating the various levels) or a binary outcome (working at/above KS1 level, or working below KS1 level). There are a range of field values used. For example A=absent, D=disapplied, Q=Maladministration, BLW= Below, WTS= Working towards, EXS=Working at expected, GDS=Working at greater depth, then PKF and PK1-4. I have been looking particularly to see what 'D', disapplied and 'Q', maladministration, mean but haven't found anything useful. Apologies if this is available and I am not looking properly! Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks in advance, AMJ-coder |

We have reached out to a semi-retired professor who has agreed to share their code on cleaning EYFSP, KS1 and KS2. |

Hi, I have also started to work with the ECHILD data concentrating on the educational outcomes (KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4) of the National Pupil database. Thanks in advance if possible, |

Hi,
I've sent you some code which our team has been working with, so hopefully this will give you a starting point. We will endeavour to make this code more generalisable and shareable in the near future!
