Expanding Akash Network Market Liquidity and Depth
Summary
This proposal requests $1,000,000 worth of AKT (1,737,318 AKT) from the Community Pool to expand AKT market-making operations deployed across venues and at least one additional market maker to support deeper liquidity.
All funds would be custodied and managed by the Decentralized Cloud Foundation (DCF). Like Proposals 280 and 316, loaned AKT and liquidity positions remain Community Pool assets and are returned to the Community Pool at the end of the market making operation, as directed by the DCF.
Background / Updates
Proposals 280 and 316 focused on maintaining liquidity where AKT already trades. This proposal expands that program by adding a market-making counterparty and broadening the set of venues where AKT is actively quoted.
In September 2026, one loan call option issued under Proposal 280 was exercised and converted to USDT, with 250,000 AKT converting to 94,272.18 USDT. That tranche was subsequently rolled into a put option and extended under the same structure.
The current plan is to roll any other exercised options to continue to provide liquidity under similar structures.
Amount Requested
The DCF is requesting 1,737,318 AKT to further deepen market making liquidity:
*Based on 30-day average AKT price of $0.5756 (daily closes from Aug 31 to Sep 29, 2026).
Methodology Rationale
Used a 30-day average rather than spot price so single-week price volatility does not dictate request size.
Use of Funds
Market Maker Token Loan & Market Depth ($1,000,000)
AKT will be allocated across a mix of token loans to a market maker and market depth expansion across venues to support deeper liquidity. Token loans follow a 12-month loan structure with a 30-day recall clause for the Foundation.
The market maker would be expected to:
Counterparty selection and terms will be subject to legal review.
Deployed inventory is subject to price risk, and the mix of AKT and paired assets held in these positions will change as price moves.
Custody and Management
All funds would be held and managed by the Decentralized Cloud Foundation (DCF). DCF will:
Conclusion
This proposal expands the community-owned market-making program using the same returnable structure the community has already approved twice, with added focus on broader market depth.
