Issues with setting up an account in local instance of appwrite

Steps performed

• Installed the docker image by following the instructions from self host guide
• Browsed localhost:81 (since I passed 81 instead of the default 80)
• Tried to create a new user, got an error

This indicates you may have a version mismatch between what's in your database and the version of Appwrite you're running. If you don't care about the data, the easiest thing to do would be to clear out the old data and start back up from scratch.

To clear the data, run:

docker compose down -v

To restart everything from scratch, run:

docker compose up -d

And where can I find the docker-compose.yml of Appwrite to run these commands?

Are you self hosting on Windows, Linux (including WSL), or Mac?

A few things you can try:

1. Open up PowerShell and run dir to see if you can find a folder named appwrite
2. Do the same with CMD
3. Search your whole system for a folder named appwrite
4. Search your whole system for a file named docker-compose.yml

Yeah, I had forgotten in the directory I ran the command to initialize the docker image, found the folder, and using the migration guide from appwrite docs worked
