In just a few days, one of the most significant events of the 18th century will mark its 250th anniversary: the US Declaration of Independence. 馃椊
Unfortunately, even a quarter of a millennium later, democratic principles and values are still under threat worldwide, which is why I鈥檇 like to dedicate the theme of July's Monthly Challenge entirely to democracy. This is quite an open theme, but as always, here's some inspiration: think of AI-powered misinformation scanning, simulations of different voting systems, visualizations of gerrymandering, or even things related to (cyber)-security, a field that's deeply connected with the fate of democracy.
As always, you have until the end of the month to code up an ASPL program on this theme. It must be open-source, and a link to it should be posted as a comment under this message or in the appropriate thread in our Discord server to enter the contest. The winner of the challenge will then be determined in a poll. They will receive a certificate, a book voucher, and a shoutout on BlueSky and X! 馃弳
