Video codec issue

Hi,

I have successfully uploaded MP4 files but I got an error message saying "The video codec is invalid. Allowed codecs: h264, vp8, vp9, av1."

I've tried to use HandBrake to check if I can change the code to h264, but it removes all my GPS and time metadata, which is critical for my work. Is there a way for BIIGLE to recognize normal GoPro MP4 videos? Or to convert the MP4 files to h264 without losing my metadata??

H.265 wasn't supported by major browsers for a long time, so BIIGLE couldn't support it too. It seems like things are slowly changing and support for the codec improves. We'll reconsider to add support to BIIGLE!

Meanwhile you still have to transcode to H.264. I'm not familiar with HandBrake but v1.10 is supposed to preserve metadata. Which version do you have?

Thank you for the help! I'm hoping BIIGLE supports this type of file soon. I've used HandBrake and the file created was able to play in BIIGLE. However, another error, or rather warning message appears saying "The video file contains an invalid moov atom position.
This can cause performance issues or incorrect annotation thumbnails in Largo.
See the manual for how to fix this."
I can use ffmpeg to fix it, as instructed in the manual. However, I'm wondering whether it affects the annotation report, specifically, the geographical location of each annotation, which is key to my project. If not, I may be able to proceed for now without having to run my 60 videos through the transcode AND moov atom validation processes.

An invalid moov atom position can have two effects:

• The browser has to load the entire video before it can start playing.
• Your displayed video frame at a specific time can be slightly off, resulting in Largo thumbnails (which use the correct frame) not showing the object you annotated.

If your displayed video frame is slightly off it will probably have a negligible effect on the geo location you associate with this frame (as the "error" is likely less than a second).
