Copilot Agent: Secrets cause "Processing request" to fail

After setting up copilot-setup-steps.yml to install dependencies from private repos and setup a test MySQL database, the Copilot Agent doesn't work any more.

When going to the verbose logs, I see that the "Processing request" step fails with

/home/runner/work/_temp/runtime-logs/user.env: line 149: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `"'

I have no idea what "Processign request" does, what user.env does and what it has to do with my setup steps. Especially, I don't know why it suddenly fails and how to debug it.

I could now verify that removing the secret containing the SSH key I need to install the dependencies allows Copilot to run (but without the dependencies, of course).

I suspect this being due to the SSH key containing line breaks, and the "Processing request" step doing some internal stuff that breaks on line breaks in secrets – even though I thought (hoped) secrets wouldn't even be available to Copilot?
