About the certificate of student registration

Hi everyone,

I am a high school student in China. Our school didn't issue us a student ID card. I only have my high school admission letter. But it seems to contain only the name of my school and my name, not the school's logo. Can I use this document to apply?

Don't worry — many students from schools that don't issue ID cards have been approved successfully. Here's what you can do:

Your admission letter alone might not be enough, but you have several options:

Option 1: Request an enrollment certificate from your school (Recommended)

Ask your school's administrative office (教务处 or 学籍管理处) for a 在读证明 (enrollment certificate). This is a standard document in
Chinese schools that typically includes:

• Your full name
• School name and official stamp (公章)
• Current enrollment status and grade
• Issue date

Most schools can issue this within 1-2 days. The official stamp (红章) is what GitHub reviewers look for as proof of authenticity — it
replaces the need for a logo.

Option 2: Use your 学籍信息 (student registration record)

If your school uses an online student management system, you may be able to export or screenshot your enrollment record. Make sure it
shows your name, school name, and current academic year.

Option 3: Combine multiple documents

Upload your admission letter together with any of the following:

• A recent report card / transcript (成绩单) with school stamp
• A screenshot of your school's online portal showing your enrollment
• A tuition payment receipt

Tips for applying:

• Documents in Chinese are accepted — no translation needed
• Make sure the photo/scan is clear and legible
• Use a school email if your school provides one (.edu.cn), but a personal email works too
• In the application notes, briefly explain: "My school does not issue student ID cards. I am providing an enrollment certificate
  instead."

The easiest and fastest path is getting a 在读证明 with 公章 from your school office. This is widely accepted by GitHub Education.
