Hi everyone,

I recently applied for the GitHub Education plan but my application was rejected. I realized this happened because my profile was incomplete, and GitHub suggested that I complete a few additional steps to get verified. I followed those instructions and updated my profile.
After that, I tried applying again, but now I’m receiving the error message mentioned in the title. Since my previous application was already rejected, I’m not sure why it says that i have an outstanding discount request.

I’ve double checked that everything else is correct, but the problem still persists.

Hi @Saiyam2203, this error usually happens when the system hasn't fully cleared your previous application from the 'pending' state in the backend, even if it shows as rejected.
The best thing to do is wait for 24 to 48 hours before trying again. This allows the system to sync your profile updates and clear the stuck request. Repeatedly trying to apply during this time can sometimes prolong the error.
If the issue persists after 2 days, you will need to reach out to GitHub Education Support to have them manually reset your application status.
