Hi everyone,

I am a student and cannot get past the damn crappy OCR camera system github uses. I have tried 3 times now and it refuses to acknowledge my proof of enrollement. For an autistic individual like myself this is a massive sensory issue. I know damn well I am enrolled in college and have proper documentation, but the system fails and there is 0 ways to bypass the camera. There needs to be an alternate way to upload documentation..... PLEASE I AM BEGGING SOMEONE TO HELP. I should not be forced to pay for a service I qualify for to use for free based on my education status.

Hey @TaskPuppyNatani Try cranking up the lighting to as much as possible, use a table lamp if possible, and try again, there really is no way around it. I understand as a fellow student

I actually managed to get help via a support ticket, but now the issue is due to the system wide freeze of copilot, the student copliot is stuck in limbo because it thinks I have access to copilot still, while technically yes but actually no since they have frozen everyone on a trial access.

Hi,

A workaround that may help:

• Set your location to match your college/university location
• Use a properly scanned PDF of your enrollment documents (avoid camera photos if possible)
• Ensure the document is clear, well-lit, and all details are readable before uploading

This can improve the chances of the verification system accepting your proof.

If it still doesn’t work, contacting GitHub Support for manual verification is the best option.

I was able to contact support about it and got it resolved.

Yea agree, after I ignored the part of the support ticket where it told me I cant submit a ticket for verification problems, it worked by submitting a different topic.
