Hellot, Thank you so much for your answer. Indeed I had followed all the procedure you pointed out and now I managed to not being turned down immediately. Now there is a green status "pending". I use to get the sad smiley face now I got a heart! Not sure if they will accept. What is most sad is that I had more 14 days of pro subscription and now they moved me back to the free version. |

A few things that commonly cause this for researchers at non-traditional institutions (research centers, academies of sciences, etc.):
The most common issue is the email address used to apply. GitHub Education works much better when you apply from your institutional email tied to your organization's domain, not a personal Gmail or Outlook. Make sure you're logged in with and applying from your institutional address.
The document type also matters. Employment contracts are valid but verbose. A brief official letter on institutional letterhead from your department or HR, clearly stating your current position and affiliation, tends to go through faster than a full contract. The letter needs …
