Copilot Pro trial unexpectedly revoked after successful payment verification (PayPal)

Hello,
I activated the 30‑day trial of GitHub Copilot Pro on April 5th. During the activation process, GitHub requested a payment method verification. I used my PayPal account, and the verification appeared to work correctly: a $10 charge was placed and then automatically refunded a few hours later, which is the normal behavior for a pre‑authorization.

For the following days (until April 15th), I had full access to Copilot Pro features:

agents

premium requests

usage bar in my profile
Everything worked exactly as expected for a valid Copilot Pro trial.

However, today I logged in and noticed that my account suddenly shows Copilot Free, and the trial is no longer active. I did not cancel anything, and there were no notifications or emails about a failed payment or a revoked trial.

From what I can tell, it seems that the PayPal pre‑authorization may have been released too early, and GitHub automatically interpreted this as a failed verification, even though the initial verification succeeded.

I would really appreciate your help, as the trial was working correctly and I did not expect it to be revoked.

Same issue here, I did the same & today they revoked it. I don't know why.

Thanks, I don't understand why you didn't indicate it directly, they just sent an email saying they switched to free without explanation.

Same here. At least give an option to upgrade to Pro+ to existing Pro users. My credits now resets on 1st July and I am locked out for the whole month. How do I finish my work???
