Issue Summary

GitHub Projects board is not displaying newly created issues for Sprint 7, despite proper issue creation, automation configuration, and manual intervention attempts. This issue coincides with the current GitHub service degradation (RED status as of April 20, 2026, 2:57 PM UTC).

Detailed Issue Description

What is Happening

Newly created issues for Sprint 7 are not appearing on my GitHub Projects board ("ReturnHub Platform Development Board"), despite:

• Issues being successfully created and open in the repository
• Issues being properly indexed and accessible via GitHub API
• Issues having all required metadata (labels, milestone, assignees, status)
• Project automation workflows being enabled and properly configured
• Manual status assignment successfully setting status to "Todo" at the issue level

Expected Behavior

Based on the successful workflow pattern from previous sprints (Sprint 1-6), newly created issues should:

1. Automatically appear on the project board when added
2. Automatically transition to "Todo" status column
3. Be filterable and visible when sorted by sprint label

Actual Behavior

• Sprint 7 issues do not appear on the board
• Todo column shows "0" items despite three issues with "Todo" status being manually assigned
• All other columns (In Progress: 0, Done: 192) display correctly
• Recreating the project board does not resolve the issue

Reproduction Steps

1. Navigate to project board: https://github.com/users/AAdewunmi/projects/11/views/7
2. Click on "Sprint 7" tab
3. Observe Todo, In Progress columns are empty (0 items each)
4. Navigate to repository issues: https://github.com/AAdewunmi/Returns-Escalation-Predictor-Project/issues
5. Verify that issues #195, #196, #197 exist, are open, and have proper metadata
6. Return to project board
7. Issues still do not appear despite being properly indexed

Same problem here!

New issues added to a Project do not appear on a Project Board. However, if you remove pre-existing issue (created before 20.04.26), and add it back, it will appear on a Project Board (and in Project overall)

@jenmo917 It seems the problem isn't completely fixed. I noticed yesterday that issues on my board didn't auto move from In Progress to Done after merging PR ...

Hi All - we are working through the repairs here. Please keep us posted as you continue to spot anything off.

As we work through this, the short term fix is to remove/re-add out of data issues from the project, which will reset the state here. Sorry - I know that isn't the ideal answer here.
