If your GitHub account is related to your school account, You can try contacting your schools IT department to then send and mail to GitHub regarding the issue. I also suggest talking to your professor or advisor with whom school projects are run for more help and clarification. Direct messages from institutions get faster reply's of what happened, why and what needs to be done to fix it.
