GitHub Support generally cannot transfer ownership of an account solely based on claims of authorship or repository ownership. If you no longer have access to the email address associated with the account and do not have recovery methods configured, account recovery options may be limited. Your best path is to open a support ticket and provide any evidence GitHub requests, such as: Access to previously registered SSH or GPG keys However, GitHub intentionally maintains strict account recovery requirements to prevent unauthorized account takeovers. If recovery is not possible, you may need to continue development from a new account and update project documentation, websites, and package metadata to reference the new account. |

Hi @ewaslawek5 , This community is managed by GitHub employees, but it is not a support forum. The only place to go for answers to account-specific questions like this one is opening a ticket on our Support page. This is a public forum, and the community is unable to assist with nor escalate your ticket, but we can assure you it is in the right place. It will be answered in the order it was received based on our team's resources and the amount of tickets ahead of yours. As no other Community Discussions team members will be able to provide additional help with account related questions I am going to close this discussion. We appreciate your understanding and patience while Support works through your request! |

Subject: Account Recovery Request for username: goodstat
Hello GitHub Support Team,
I am writing to urgently request assistance in regaining access to my primary GitHub account with the username "goodstat" (https://github.com/goodstat).
I created this account several years ago using the email address: kontakt@goodstat.com.pl. Unfortunately, I no longer own the domain "goodstat.com.pl" (it expired and was lost), which means I am completely unable to receive password reset links, one-time verification codes, or any notifications sent to that address.
I am the creator and original author of the "System GoodStat" software, which is hosted on that account at: https://github.com/goodstat/System-GoodStat. Currently, I am temporarily using a secondary account "ewaslawek5" (https://github.com/ewaslawek5), where I host a copy of the repository, but I am unable to properly update and maintain the official, original repository without access to the "goodstat" account.
I am ready to provide any technical verification required to prove my ownership of the account. I still have the original development environment, local Git repositories with historical commit logs, and potentially the SSH keys associated with my past device configurations. Furthermore, I am the current owner of the active official project website: https://goodstat.pl/. If necessary, I can add a specific DNS TXT verification record to goodstat.pl to prove my identity.
Please let me know what specific steps or cryptographic proofs (such as verifying a public SSH key or confirming commit signatures) I need to provide to recover my account.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Sławomir Podrzycki
