Hi everyone,
I'm using GitHub Copilot Pro and have noticed something unusual with my premium request usage after my monthly quota reset on June 1.
What happened:
My premium request quota reset on June 1.
On June 1, I mainly used Copilot with Auto model selection.
After what felt like normal usage, around 50% of my monthly premium requests were already consumed.
On June 2, I used (claude sonnet 4.6) for a single prompt, and my remaining quota dropped by another ~20%.
In total, roughly 70% of my monthly allocation was consumed within two days.
What confuses me is that I've been using Copilot for several months with very similar workflows, and I never experienced consumption at this rate. Last month, usage was much more predictable.
I'm trying to understand:
Have there been any recent changes to how premium requests are calculated?
Does Auto model selection now consume premium requests differently than before?
Has anyone else noticed unusually high premium request consumption since the June reset?
I've already opened a support ticket with GitHub, but I wanted to check whether other Copilot Pro users are seeing similar behavior.
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!
