After application got approved i am still getting Github Copilot free. What to do ?

Congratulations on getting approved for the GitHub Student Developer Pack!

If you're still seeing "GitHub Copilot Free" after approval, don't worry—student benefits are not always applied instantly.

Here are a few things you can try:

1. Check that your student status is marked as Verified in your GitHub Education settings.

2. Sign out of GitHub and sign back in.

3. Visit your Copilot settings page and verify whether the student benefit has been activated.

4. Wait 24–72 hours, as benefit activation can sometimes take a little time after approval.

5. If the issue persists after a few days, contact GitHub Support and include screenshots of:

   • Your approved Student Developer Pack status
   • Your current Copilot plan page

GitHub Support should be able to verify whether the Copilot Student entitlement has been correctly applied to your account.

We have provided more details about changes to Copilot Individual Plans in this discussion, which may be updated if new information becomes available.

From the FAQ:

10. I'm newly eligible for Copilot Student but have never activated it. Can I sign up now?
    At this time, new activations of Copilot Student, Pro, and Pro+ are paused.

Your GitHub Education verification is active and has not been removed. The pause affects the ability to activate Copilot Student or a Copilot paid plan. When signups resume, you will be able to activate the Education benefit if you are still eligible. In the meantime, Copilot Free remains available for signups.

We do not have an estimated timeframe to share yet for when the pause will end. Updates will be posted in the linked discussion posts.
