As of today, the date of a comment or pull request in lists sorted by date (and in other places) displays as 1s ago, 1m ago, 1d ago, 1w ago, 1mo ago, etc.

I think these abbreviations are horribly ambiguous. English is not my native language but I suspect that most English-speaking GH users do not use them or are not aware of them.
