We currently have repos in AzureDevops and use Visual Studio for our IDE. Looking to use Github copilot for the team. I was trying to establish an enterprise to get the team GH Copilot. How to get the access only GitHub Copilot. Sales team is not very responsive and helpful.

As a manager who has set this exact workflow up for my own teams, I completely understand the frustration with sales lag. The good news is that you don't need to wait on the enterprise sales team or migrate a single line of code away from Azure DevOps to get your team on Copilot.

GitHub Copilot's licensing is entirely decoupled from where your repositories are hosted. The extension in your IDE (Visual Studio) only cares about the GitHub account you use to authenticate, not where your active git remotes point to.

Here is the cleanest, self-service route to get your team set up today without an enterprise contract:

1. The Strategy: GitHub Copilot Business (Self-Service)
   Instead of waiting on GitHub Enterprise, you can spinning up a standard GitHub Organization (which is free) and subscribe to GitHub Copilot Business ($19/user/month) completely self-service via credit card or Azure subscription billing.

Step 1: Create a free GitHub Organization for your company.

Step 2: Go to Organization Settings > Copilot and enable Copilot Business.

Step 3: Invite your developers' GitHub handles to the organization and provision a Copilot seat to them.

2. The Visual Studio & Azure DevOps Workflow
   Once provisioned, your developers don't need to change anything about how they interact with Azure DevOps.

   1: Authentication: Inside Visual Studio, have your team go to Tools > Options > Environment > Accounts and sign in with the GitHub account linked to your organization.

   2: Code Context: They can open their local clones of your Azure DevOps repositories exactly as they do now. Visual Studio will read the Copilot license from their GitHub session and seamlessly provide context-aware code completions for your Azure DevOps codebase.
