It would be userfull to have controls similar to OpenIA and Antropic. They are able to limit daily and weekly tokens usage.
Right now with GitHub budgets we can only limit monthly spending for users. Having the posibility to limit daily and weekly alongside montly will be very userfull to manage the AI credits pool.

Aditionally having the posibliily to apply cap or limits on the models themselves would be interesting as some models are a lot more expensive than others

I agree. Monthly budgets are useful for controlling the final bill, but they are not sufficient for managing the rate at which a shared AI Credits pool is consumed.

Enterprise administrators would benefit from multiple control layers:

Daily, weekly and monthly user limits
Separate limits for users, teams, cost centres and organizations
Per-model spending limits or model allowlists
Alerts at configurable thresholds such as 50%, 75% and 90%
Rate limits to prevent accidental credit spikes
Automatic fallback to a lower-cost approved model
Exceptions for selected users or teams

Existing model policies can help administrators control whether particular models are available, but that is different from assigning a monetary or credit limit to each model.

Ideally, GitHub should support both governance and FinOps controls: administrators should be able to approve the models that meet their security requirements while separately controlling how much each scope can consume. This would be especially valuable for large enterprises where one unexpected agent workload could consume a significant portion of the monthly pool.
