Just Graduated, and it was HELL 💔

AI generated Assignemnts/Reports, but humanizing was Pain; paragraph/word limits, exhaustion, premium subscriptions... Turnitin still detected AI 😑

So I built TURNITOUT; AI and Similarity/Plagerism remover

Technical Info:

Turnitin is 100% programmatic. It mathematically breaks the exact patterns detectors unfairly look for, and it perfectly preserves your Word (.docx) and LaTeX formatting.

What's in v1.2.0:

• Word Document (.docx) support without ruining your layouts.
• FIFO repetition blocker (rotates synonyms so the text doesn't sound robotic).
• LLM signature clean (automatically strips out suspicious em-dashes and structural tropes).

First of all, congrats on graduating! 🎉 I definitely relate to how stressful writing reports and meeting all the university requirements can be.

It's always nice to see someone turn a personal frustration into a real project instead of just complaining about it.

From the technical side, I like that you focused on preserving .docx formatting and keeping the app free and privacy-friendly. Those are features that many students will appreciate.

One small suggestion: I'd avoid presenting it as a tool to "beat" AI detectors. Universities have different academic integrity policies, so it may be better to position it as a writing refinement tool that helps improve readability and gives students more control over their own work.

Some features I'd personally find useful are:

• A readability score with suggestions for clearer writing.
• A side-by-side comparison showing exactly what changed.
• Citation and reference consistency checks.
• An explanation of why each change was made, so users can actually learn from it.
