I think we should be comparing engineering practices instead.
As AI applications move into production, architecture, observability, governance, testing, and recovery become much more important than benchmark scores.
Several companies are pushing enterprise AI in this direction:
They're approaching the problem differently, but all recognize that production AI is fundamentally a software engineering challenge.
I recently read an article explaining why self-healing AI agents need governance and observability alongside modern product engineering, and it reinforced this perspective.
