Hi everyone,

I'm a graduate student in a fully online program applying for the Student Developer Pack. My documents are valid and current, but I keep getting auto-rejected and I've run out of things to try.
What I've already done:

1. Added and verified my school-issued (.edu) email on my account
2. Matched my full name exactly across my profile, billing info, and transcript
3. Selected "All coursework is via distance learning" (my whole program is online)
4. Uploaded a current transcript showing courses in progress this term, with a recent date

Valid proof of current enrollment should be enough on its own, but the system keeps rejecting me. My account is only a few days old, which I suspect is part of the flagging.
For others who got past repeated auto-rejections with a verified .edu email and a valid, current transcript: what actually worked? Is it mostly waiting for the account to age, or is there a specific step I'm missing?

You've clearly done all the right things, which makes this frustrating, but your suspicion about account age is likely correct. That's a real factor the automated system considers, along with a couple of other things specific to online/distance programs. Here's what's worth checking:

1. Account age and activity
   A brand-new GitHub account with little to no activity (no repos, no commits, no profile info) gets flagged more often, even with a verified .edu email and valid transcript. If your account is only a few days old:

Add a profile picture, bio, and maybe a pinned repo or two before reapplying.
Make a few commits or contributions, even small ones, so the account looks like an active developer's, not a freshly created one for benefits.
Wait a few more days if possible before retrying the application, sometimes just account age alone resolves it.

2. "Distance learning" flag can hurt approval odds
   Selecting "all coursework is via distance learning" is accurate for your situation, but it's also one of the flags the automated system is more suspicious of, since it's a common route for people trying to get benefits without being real students. Since your case is legitimate, this pushes you toward needing manual review rather than automatic approval, that's not something you can avoid on the form itself.
3. Transcript details matter
   Even a valid, current transcript can fail automated review if it's missing:

A clearly visible institution name/logo matching your email domain.
Your full legal name exactly as it appears on your GitHub billing profile.
A visible date range for the current term (not just "in progress").
