A few things that made GitHub much easier for me:

1. GitHub CLI (gh): do everything from terminal: gh repo create, gh pr create, gh issue list
2. GitHub Desktop: if you prefer a GUI over command line
3. VS Code + GitHub Copilot / GitLens: inline blame, PR reviews, commit history
4. Pin repos on your profile: customize what people see first
5. Keyboard shortcuts: press ? on any GitHub page

For browser-only workflow, try the GitHub Copilot extension in VS Code instead of the web chat it's more integrated.

What specifically feels unfriendly? (PRs, branching, Actions?) Happy to suggest a workflow.
