New pull request search doesn't support multiple repos

I was frequently using multiple repo filters to catch unreviewed changes and now I can't.

The issue appears to be the lowercase or in the second query.

The new pull request search treats boolean operators as the uppercase keywords AND and OR. Without a recognized operator, expressions separated by spaces are combined using AND, so this:

repo:nix-community/home-manager or repo:nixos/nixpkgs

is effectively interpreted as requiring results from both repositories, with or treated as a regular search term. Since a pull request cannot belong to both repositories, the query returns no results.

Could you try the following instead?

(repo:nix-community/home-manager OR repo:nixos/nixpkgs)

https://github.com/pulls/authored?q=%28repo%3Anix-community%2Fhome-manager+OR+repo%3Anixos%2Fnixpkgs%29

If the uppercase OR version still returns no results, that would indicate a separate search regression worth investigating.

Thanks! That works great. Could I suggest, if or is not a valid operator, it should not be syntax highlighted?

Thanks for the suggestion — I agree that highlighting lowercase or as valid syntax can be misleading.

Since the original issue is now resolved, could you please mark my previous reply as the answer in this GitHub Discussion? GitHub will then show the discussion as answered with a check mark, which can help other users with the same problem find the solution more easily.

It would also be helpful to keep the syntax-highlighting concern visible for the GitHub team, since the current behavior may confuse other users and could be improved in the search interface.
