500 Internal Server Error when creating a Pull Request

What happened?

Whenever I try to create a pull request, GitHub redirects me to the generic "Oops!!! 500" error page instead of opening the pull request.

This has been happening consistently.

Steps to reproduce

1. Push a branch with commits.
2. Open the repository on GitHub.
3. Click "Compare & pull request" (or "New pull request").
4. Select the base and compare branches.
5. Click "Create pull request".

Expected behavior

The pull request should be created successfully.

Actual behavior

GitHub returns a "500 - Looks like something went wrong!" page.

Environment

• Browser: Chrome (latest)
• OS: Windows 11
• Account type: GitHub Free

Additional information

• I have tried refreshing the page.
• I have tried an Incognito window.
• The branch is pushed successfully.
• The repository is otherwise accessible.

Has anyone else experienced this recently, or is this a known issue?
