Hi everyone,
Hello everyone,
I am trying to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but the automated system keeps rejecting my application. I have already fixed all my profile requirements (enabled 2FA, matched my billing name exactly to my document, and I am using my verified academic email).
My official proof of enrollment is from a Brazilian Federal Institute (IFBA), generated by our official academic system (SUAP). The document is perfect: it has my full name, the full institution name, the current academic term/date (July 2026), and a digital verification code.
The main issue is that the application page forces me to use my device's camera and does not give me an option to upload the original PDF. When I take a picture of the document (either printed or displayed on another screen), the automated system (OCR) fails to read the Portuguese text properly. It rejects me with generic errors like "text unable to be read" or "does not contain school name", even though it's clearly written there.
Since manual reviews via support tickets are no longer available, does anyone have tips on how to get the automated system to properly read Brazilian SUAP documents? Is there a workaround to enable the file upload button instead of the camera?
Any help is appreciated!
