I submitted a request to join Github Education a year ago and it still hasn't been processed.

Yeah, a year is definitely way longer than usual, so it sounds like your request got stuck or dropped somewhere in their system.

I'd try going back to the GitHub Education page to see if it lets you start a fresh application. If you do re-apply, just make sure to turn off your VPN beforehand (sometimes it causes verification issues) and check that your profile name matches your school docs.

If the page is still locked on pending and won't let you re-submit, you'll probably need to reach out to GitHub Support directly so they can clear that old request for you.
