New right pane merge drawer is an eye-hand coordination test?

Hi, I've been using the (not so) new right-side drawer that opens when merging straight from the diff view of a PR (i.e. click "ready to merge" in the diff view).
After merging, the content turns into a confirmation text with a Delete branch button that appears to every time test my eye coordination - it shows up for probably like 100ms, probably not more than 500ms, before redirecting the page away from the diff view.
Initially my reaction was "oh this game is fun". Now it is getting a bit irritating (also because the button location isn't constant and sometimes shifts, can't say why). I usually want to delete the branches after I merge. Of what use is the button if it is shown for so little time?

I agree with this feedback. The “Delete branch” button is useful, but it disappears almost immediately because the page redirects after the merge. I often don’t have enough time to click it, even when I’m expecting it.

It would be a much better experience if GitHub either:

• delayed the redirect for a couple of seconds,
• kept the merge drawer open until the user dismissed it, or
• included the “Delete branch” action on the page after the redirect.

That would make branch cleanup much more convenient without forcing users to navigate back.
