I’d like to propose using binary units (GiB, MiB, TiB) instead of decimal units (GB, MB, TB) wherever GitHub displays memory or storage capacities that are measured in binary units.

This was originally raised in the Docs repository, but the Docs team indicated that any change would need to be considered product-wide rather than as a documentation update.

Using binary units would improve technical accuracy, avoid ambiguity, and ensure consistent terminology across GitHub.
