Pull Shark badge not upgraded after 23 merged PRs

Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding the Pull Shark achievement.

According to my GitHub profile, I currently have 23 merged pull requests, but I still only have the default Pull Shark badge. From what I understand, the Pull Shark Bronze tier is awarded after 16 merged pull requests, so I expected it to be upgraded already.

I have checked my merged PRs and the count appears to be above the Bronze requirement. Is there a delay in badge updates, or are there additional conditions that I may have missed?

I would appreciate any clarification from the community or GitHub staff.

From what you've described, you should already have the Bronze tier with 23 merged PRs.
Some achievements seem to take a little while to propagate on the profile, so give it a day or two. Make sure all of the PRs are merged and that "Show Achievements on my profile" is turned on in your profile settings too.
If it's not updated after two days then I guess one of the GitHub team would need to get it sorted. Maybe try getting a couple more PRs or so merged into a public repo to see if that kick-starts it.

Thanks! i’ve already checked those settings, and I’ve actually been above the 16 merged PRs threshold for about a week now so that’ is why I was wondering.. I’ll give it a bit more time and see if it updates. Thanks again!

what made me wonder is that when i reached 2 merged PRs, the badge appeared immediately with no delay

It does seem a bit unusual since your initial Pull Shark badge appeared immediately. Sometimes higher badge tiers take longer to update than the first achievement. If it still hasn't upgraded after a few more days, it's probably worth opening a GitHub Support ticket so they can check whether the achievement sync is stuck.
