Hi everyone,

Hi guys i applied as faculty from a listed establishment with my work email but it was denied based on me using my ID which due to working in education only shows my first initial and surname not first name

Any advice how to resolve this as i cant just change my ID ?

If the faculty ID only shows an initial and surname, do not alter or edit the ID. Reapply using a second official document that clearly links your full name to the institution, such as an employment verification letter on school letterhead, a staff directory page, or another faculty document that shows your current role and a date.

Make sure the school-issued email is verified on the same personal GitHub account and select Faculty rather than Student in the application. GitHub’s teacher guidance says the uploaded documents must prove current school affiliation, and its rejection guidance specifically recommends a faculty ID or employment verification letter with clear information when the first document is unclear:

In the reapplication notes, explain that the institution’s ID format intentionally uses an initial and surname, and include the document that shows the full name. Do not upload unrelated identity documents or any document with unnecessary personal numbers visible.
