Hi everyone,

I work as freelance lecturer. The faculty I am working for gives me an email which includes the word "student". My application was rejected for the following reasons:

• You applied as a teacher but the email address you used appears to be for student use.
• Please use your device camera to submit academic affiliation documents.

I submitted a second application and attached a confirmation by the faculty that I am a lecturer and my email includes the word "student". Again the application was rejected.

What can I do to get the application approved?

You should contact the support team directly and explain that your faculty-issued email contains the word "student" even though you are a lecturer. Include a letter or official document from your institution confirming your employment, and ask them to manually review your application instead of relying only on the email address.

@azlanabdulla: Thanks for the proposal. GitHub seems to not provide manual application reviews any longer. At least that is what the support system tells me. And when I try to "circumvent" that by opening a support ticket in another category, my ticket get's closed by AI and a standard answer within seconds.

@pause-one: Indeed. This is really a hassle.

If anyone from GitHub is monitoring this forum: I really appreciate the education offers, and I completely understand that you need to verify eligibility. I also understand that the automated verification process probably works smoothly for the vast majority of students and teachers.

Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I am currently stuck in the verification process, and despite trying to resolve the issue, I have not been able to make any progress.

I would really appreciate it if someone from GitHub could take a closer look at my situation or point me in the right direction. At the moment, however, I have he impression that GitHub simply does not care about cases like mine. I certainly hope that is not the case, but without any way forward, it is difficult to arrive at another conclusion.
