I can see an old part of the Copilot chat but the new part from yesterday is gone.
Contacted support but still no answer an I want to continue with my project.

How can I get the new part of that chat back?

Unfortunately, there usually isn't a reliable way to manually restore a missing Copilot Chat conversation from the GitHub UI once that newer portion is no longer available.

Before assuming it's permanently gone, I'd check the following:

• Make sure you're signed into the same GitHub account and using the same IDE/device where the chat was created.
• Check whether the conversation is still available in Copilot Chat history or in the IDE's recent conversations.
• Restart/update the IDE and Copilot extension, then check again.
• If the missing portion was from yesterday and the older part is still visible, take screenshots/export whatever remains before making further changes.

Since you've already contacted GitHub Support, I'd keep the existing ticket open and provide the exact approximate date/time, IDE, Copilot extension version, and screenshots showing that the older portion remains but the newer messages are missing.

If the missing messages were not persisted by Copilot, there may unfortunately be no user-side recovery method. In that case, the best approach is to reconstruct the lost context from your project files, Git history, terminal history, and any generated code that was actually applied to the project.

What I find strange: when I export the chat, everything is in there.
But the chat doesn't show it all.
