Hi everyone,

Hello,

I am a full-time elementary school teacher in South Korea, and I would like to ask whether I am eligible for GitHub Education for teachers.

I recently applied for verification using my official school email address and school affiliation documents. However, my application was not approved. I received the following message from the GitHub Education Team:

“We couldn’t verify your academic affiliation based on your submission (Aug 13, 2026) for user @Jadon-Hw.

Our benefits are available only to individuals affiliated with a qualified institution that provides instruction to students of eligible age of 13 years old or older.”

I understand that I am an elementary school teacher, and my school mainly provides education to students younger than 13. However, as part of my professional responsibilities, I also provide teacher-training sessions. These sessions include educational technology, digital tools, and AI integration for education.

The application form did not include “Elementary school” as a school type. The available options were:

• Higher-education: university, college
• High school
• Informal: bootcamp, career-training

Because there was no elementary-school option, I was unsure which category I should select.

4. What documents would be acceptable to verify my teacher-training responsibilities?
