Hi everyone,

Hola a todos,

Estoy intentando solicitar el GitHub Student Developer Pack utilizando mi correo institucional de la UVEG (Universidad Virtual del Estado de Guanajuato). Sin embargo, mi solicitud está siendo rechazada por el sistema, a pesar de que cumplo con todos los requisitos y soy un estudiante activo en el programa de diseño de software.

He revisado la documentación y las preguntas frecuentes, pero el problema persiste. ¿Podría alguien del equipo o de la comunidad orientarme sobre cómo solucionar este error, o indicarme si es posible solicitar una revisión manual de mi caso?

I am trying to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack using my institutional email from UVEG (Universidad Virtual del Estado de Guanajuato). However, my application is being rejected by the system, even though I meet all the requirements and am currently an active student enrolled in a software design program.

I have reviewed the documentation and FAQs, but the issue persists. Could someone from the team or the community guide me on how to resolve this error, or let me know if it is possible to request a manual review of my application?

Hey, It looks like the system is repeatedly failing to verify your academic status rather than rejecting your GitHub account itself.

Since you’ve already tried several times, I probably wouldn’t keep resubmitting the exact same evidence. I’d make sure your institutional email is verified on GitHub, your full name matches the school records, and then use the clearest official document you have that shows your name, university, current enrollment status, and a recent date.

If the same rejection keeps happening after that, I’d contact GitHub Education Support and include a screenshot of the rejection message plus the type of document you’re trying to use. At that point it may need someone on their side to check why the verification keeps failing.
Also, I’d avoid posting any sensitive student documents publicly here.

Hola Miguel — la UVEG sí es elegible en principio (institución pública, acreditada y que otorga títulos; que sea 100% en línea no la descalifica), así que el rechazo casi seguro es por la evidencia, no por la universidad. Cosas concretas que suelen destrabar casos como el tuyo:

1. Documento: en lugar de capturas del portal, solicita una constancia de estudios oficial con fecha reciente (la UVEG la emite desde el portal del estudiante) — imprímela y fotografíala con la cámara del dispositivo durante la solicitud. Las capturas de pantalla de PDFs son la causa Welcome to GitHub product feedback #1 de rechazos automáticos repetidos.
2. Coincidencia de nombre: tu nombre completo en el perfil de GitHub, en la información de facturación (Settings → Billing) y en la constancia deben coincidir exactamente — con acentos incluidos. Un "Miguel Ángel" vs "Miguel Angel" puede tirar la verificación automática.
3. País de facturación: México, consistente con la institución.
4. Espacia los intentos al menos 24 horas; reenvíos rápidos con la misma evidencia refuerzan el rechazo automático.

Si con una constancia nueva y el nombre alineado sigue fallando, la revisión manual real se pide en https://support.github.com/contact/education (categoría GitHub Education) — los moderadores de este foro no pueden anular el sistema de verificación. Incluye ahí tu application ID y menciona que el correo institucional ya está verificado.
