Hi GitHub Community,

I’m trying to understand an issue with the discoverability/indexing of my GitHub profile.

My GitHub username is:

wildoctopus

Profile:
https://github.com/wildoctopus

Previously, when searching Google for my unique GitHub username “wildoctopus”, my GitHub profile appeared prominently in the results. However, it no longer appears for this search.

Instead, Google mostly returns unrelated results about octopuses or other content, and my GitHub profile is difficult to find.

My profile has been active for quite some time and includes several public projects. Some of my notable work includes:

• huggingface-cloth-segmentation — a computer vision project related to human/clothing segmentation.

• FeetAndShoeMeasurement — a computer vision project for foot and shoe measurement.

• Anime-Video-Generator — a generative AI/computer vision project.

I also have contributions to the Hugging Face ecosystem, including work related to computer vision and machine learning.

One of my repositories has also received significant GitHub stars, so I’m trying to understand whether this is simply a Google indexing issue or whether there could be something on the GitHub side affecting profile discoverability.

I have already:
• Updated my GitHub profile README
• Added relevant project information
• Kept my profile and relevant repositories public
• Updated project documentation and content
• Added links to my professional profiles and other technical work

I searched for the exact username “wildoctopus” on Google, and the GitHub profile currently appears as the first result for me. Btw, I’m from Brazil, and your profile still shows up prominently even from another country. It looks like the profile is indexed and discoverable at the moment. The results may vary depending on location, search history, or Google’s indexing state.
