Hi bro! The GitHub team has a page specifically for situations like this. You can read about why this might be happening with your application and what you can do to fix it. Btw, a lot of people encounter issues when applying for GitHub Education. In my case, I just followed the requirements and steps, and I was able to get access to GitHub Pro. If you continue to have problems, I recommend searching Google using the exact error message. Many people have encountered this issue before and have asked about it on different forums. Some of them found solutions that might work for you too. I wouldn't search only on Google either — YouTube can sometimes be helpful as well. If I were you, I would first make sure that you meet all the requirements and that you are following the application guidelines correctly, then try applying again. If it still doesn't work, search for people who have already solved the exact same issue. You might find a solution that works for your case. Honestly the name matching thing is probably not even your issue at this point, you've covered that angle more than most people ever do. What usually trips this up is the actual document you're uploading rather than the profile details. If you're using something like a schedule, portal screenshot or a fee receipt, that tends to get auto rejected way more than a proper dated school ID does. So worth checking what exactly you submitted last time. Also worth checking if the date on the document is recent enough, some schools issue IDs without an expiry or academic year printed clearly and the system reads that as invalid even though it's real. If your ID doesn't show a current year, an enrollment letter with a recent date on official letterhead tends to work better. And no, you're not out of options even though it feels that way. GitHub still does manual review, you just have to go through support instead of resubmitting the same application over and over since resubmitting with the same doc usually just gets auto rejected again the same way. Open a ticket explaining you've tried multiple times, mention what documents you used, and ask for a manual review specifically. That's genuinely the move that gets people unstuck when the automated system keeps saying no for no clear reason. |

Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
Hi all,

I keep trying to apply for this education pack and keep getting rejected. I already changed the name in both Billing and public profile (copy pasted from the uni profile) just to make sure that is not wrong. Changed the name to match the email address as well at one point (just to make sure) and even swapped the First name and Last name (again, just in case =))) ). Does anyone know what else is wrong as it seems there's no way to contact github to do a manual verification anymore and I see no point in trying again as it will be rejected. Is there any point in this education pack if unable to register for it? :)))
