Most of the time when we get a Dependabot PR to update a transitive dependency in order to resolve a security alert, I have no idea why the dependency is in the stack. I have to go away and look up the dependency tree to find out. I can do this locally by running
yarn why -R <dependency>for example. But the thing is, GitHub already knows the dependency tree - another way to find out about the dependency is to go to the Insights tab, search for the package and click "show path" (although unfortunately this does not show the full dependency tree; it omits intermediate packages). It would be great if Dependabot PRs that update transitive dependencies could show the dependency tree in the PR body.
