View exact timestamps in mobile browser

Currently there doesn't seem to be an easy way to see the exact timestamp for something like an issue or discussion in a mobile browser. Normally on desktop you could hover over the relative timestamp to get the exact date/time but this isn't possible on a touchscreen. It would be helpful if there were an easy way to see this information on mobile browsers.

​The Issue

​This is impossible on a touchscreen interface because "hover" states do not exist natively on mobile browsers.

The Workaround

​Request Desktop Site: In your mobile browser's menu (such as Chrome or Safari), you can toggle "Desktop site".

How does requesting the desktop site solve the issue?

Well, when you request the desktop site you can see the timestamps on mobile because it basically acts as a desktop.

This isn't a "direct fix" to the issue, but it's, as I mentioned, a workaround.

Where do you see the timestamps after you request the desktop site?

As you can see, I have opened github via browser and if I either double-press or long-press, it will show the exact date

All I see are the relative timestamps ("yesterday"), not the exact time ("Aug 22, 2026 at 2:32 PM MDT").
