I’m encountering a related gap: my account is currently verified for GitHub Education as a student, and the Education Benefits page disables a new application. I also meet the educator eligibility requirements and want to access the verified-teacher Copilot Pro benefit on the same account. Is there a supported way to update or add teacher verification when an active student benefit already exists? |
Uh oh!

Form Errors & Technical Issues
Hi everyone,
I am experiencing repeated rejection of my GitHub Education Faculty verification application even though my official academic affiliation document, GitHub billing information, and GitHub public profile all use exactly the same full name.
I have already followed the recommended steps, including updating my public profile, signing out and back in, submitting a newly issued official Certificate of Employment, and capturing the document using my device camera.
However, the more immediate problem is that I cannot find a working way to escalate the issue to GitHub Education Support.
When I select the Faculty application rejection category in the GitHub Support form, the form returns:
Category hh-edu-app-deny-fac is not a valid choice.
If I instead select “I found a technical bug,” I am redirected back to the GitHub Education Community.
I previously described the verification problem in Discussion #204539:
https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/204539
It has now been about a week without a response, and I still cannot find a working support channel for this issue.
Could someone please confirm:
whether the hh-edu-app-deny-fac Support category is currently broken,
what the correct escalation path is for Faculty verification failures that cannot be resolved by reapplying, and
whether this issue can be forwarded to the GitHub Education team?
I am happy to provide additional non-sensitive information if needed.
Thank you.
