Newly established school without .edu email – how to apply for Student Pack?

Hi everyone,

Hi GitHub Education Team,

I am a student at Guangdong Manufacturing Technical College (official name: GUANGDONG MANUFACTURING TECHNICAL COLLEGE), a public vocational college in Guangzhou, China.

Our school was just approved by the Ministry of Education in 2026. It is a brand‑new institution, and the school‑issued email system (including .edu.cn domain) has not been deployed yet. We currently have NO school email addresses for students.

I have already received my official Admission Letter for the 2026 academic year, which clearly shows my name, the school name, and the enrollment date. I have also prepared the CHSI (学信网) online verification report as additional proof.

However, when I tried to apply for the Student Developer Pack, the system rejected me with this error: “We require applicants to use a school-issued email address to apply.” I cannot proceed to the document upload step at all.

Could you please advise on how students from newly established schools like ours can verify their student status and apply for the Student Pack? Is there any alternative way, such as uploading the admission letter directly?

I am happy to provide any documents needed. Thank you for your guidance!

(Note: I am not asking for a manual review or status update on my application – I am asking for the PROCESS for new schools without email.)

Yes, you can do that.
Steps :
When applying for student dev pack select "I don't have a school issued email"
Fill the necessary details.
When asked for Id, simply select Other and upload your enrollment/joining letter.

Important :

1. Enable 2FA for github
2. Enable Billing Address
3. Make sure you have good FRONT camera and images must be clear.
