Hello, I do hope you are doing well.

Grey recently revoked my master card and issued visa card to my account.

I added the master card long time ago and it has been billed successfully as when due with no issues on github.

Upon this changes grey made, billings failed as the card has been discontinued, i then tried to add the new visa card grey issued to my account with them.

Github seems rejecting or something i cannot figure our yet.

Below is the message i receive after VISA has authenticated the process:

The credit card was declined by the payment processor, please verify the card's information. If the problem persists, please contact the card's issuer.

Please what could be the issue...

this error almost never comes from github itself. it’s stripe or the bank declining the charge, github just shows the generic message.
old mastercard worked fine, new visa from grey fails right after they reissued it. classic situation.
most likely grey has international/online/recurring payments disabled on the new card by default. call them or write in the app and specifically ask to turn all that on.
also check that the billing address on github matches exactly what the bank has. even one letter difference can kill the auth.
and try clean incognito with all adblockers/extensions disabled, sometimes the 3ds popup fails silently.
you can also just remove the failed card completely and try adding it again, sometimes that helps for some reason.
if nothing works open a billing ticket at support.github.com, choose billing → payment method issues and write that the previous mastercard worked and this is a newly issued visa from the same bank.
that’s usually enough.

1. Primary Solution: Check the New Visa Card with Grey

Since Grey issued the replacement card, the first step is to contact them and ask them to investigate the declined GitHub transaction.

Ask Grey to confirm whether the card supports:

International transactions.
Online/e-commerce payments.
Recurring/subscription payments.
USD transactions.
Payments to software/SaaS services.

Also ask them for the decline code or the exact reason why the GitHub transaction was rejected.

This is particularly important because the Visa authentication can succeed while the subsequent payment authorization is still declined.

2. Verify the Card Details on GitHub

Make sure all billing information matches the information registered with Grey.

Check:

Card number.
Expiration date.
CVV.
Cardholder name.
Billing address.
Postal/ZIP code.

Then try adding the Visa card again from your GitHub Billing & Licensing → Payment information section.

3. Confirm the Card Type

Another important point is to verify whether the new Visa is a credit/debit card or a prepaid card.

GitHub does not support prepaid cards as a payment method, so if Grey classified the new Visa as prepaid, this could explain the rejection.

When opening the ticket, mention that:

Your previous Mastercard was successfully used for GitHub payments.
Grey revoked/replaced that Mastercard with a new Visa card.
The new Visa successfully completes the authentication step.
The payment is subsequently declined by the payment processor.
Grey has confirmed that there are no restrictions on the card.
Include the approximate date/time of the failed transaction and only the last four digits of the card.

Same issue here. Keeps failing with error even though I tried with different credit cards. Problem only happening since you switched to monthly payments. Issue is definitely on github end, not bank.

We are having a problem billing your account. Please update your payment information.

I opened a ticket with support, and they take no blame. Simply said your plan is not active, and check your payment details. SMH terrible!
