Hi everyone,

Hello,

I need help with an issue involving my GitHub Education eligibility.

I previously had a GitHub account (mahmoudd3) that received GitHub Student Developer Pack benefits. I no longer have access to that account.

I currently use a new GitHub account (mhmudyasien55) and I am trying to verify my academic eligibility on this account.

My academic email is associated with my university, but I believe it may still be linked to the Education benefits/history of my old GitHub account.

I understand that GitHub Education benefits cannot simply be transferred between personal accounts. However, since I no longer have access to the original account, I would like to know what the correct process is for my situation.

I have already attempted account recovery for the old account but was unable to regain access.

Could someone please advise me on the appropriate next step to either recover the original account or resolve the Education eligibility issue on my current account?

Hi! Since your GitHub Student Developer Pack was previously connected to your old account, the best option would be to contact GitHub Support or GitHub Education Support directly.

Explain that you no longer have access to your old account and that you want to verify your student status using your new account. They should be able to check your situation and tell you whether the old account can be recovered or whether your academic email can be verified on the new account.

I would avoid creating multiple Education applications while waiting, as this could make the situation more complicated.
