Git Hub Education Benefit Repeatedly Rejected because No School Name Despite it was written. #206289

If the employment certificate clearly shows the University of Tsukuba, your name, your current position, and the employment period, then it sounds like the document itself should contain the information GitHub is looking for. One thing I'd try is submitting a different photo of the same employment certificate, making sure the university name and your employment information are sharp and fully visible. GitHub specifically recommends using another image of the faculty ID or employment verification letter when the uploaded proof isn't being recognized clearly. For the faculty ID, the fact that your position isn't printed on the card may explain why it isn't sufficient by itself. In your situation, the employment certificate seems like the stronger document because it can directly establish your current faculty position. If the camera capture is making the document blurry, I'd make sure the original document is well lit, completely inside the frame, and readable before submitting. I wouldn't upload the certificate publicly in this discussion because it contains personal information. If you've already tried clear images of the employment certificate and it continues to be rejected for not recognizing the university name, I'd contact GitHub Education Support with the application details and explain that the automated verification isn't recognizing information that is visibly present on the document. GitHub's teacher-verification documentation recommends further support when the normal reapplication steps don't resolve the problem. |

Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,
I am an assistant professor at the University of Tsukuba, and my GitHub Education Faculty application appears to be repeatedly rejected by the automated verification system.
My application details are:
GitHub username: @togejiro2485
Name: Donny Lukmanto
Institution: University of Tsukuba
Academic status selected: Faculty
Application date: August 31st, 2026
I had tried to use my certificate of employment, the automated system rejected (about 10x already) because either:
[Certificate of Employment]
anymore (so what is the point of having "upload my document" ?)
It rejected because it "The image you selected does not appear to contain your school name". However my document clearly stated my university name.
I could give my document to the staff, but I prefer not to post it here due to privacy.
Nevertheless, I confirm that my document clearly includes:
The full name of University of Tsukuba
My full name
My current position as Specially Appointed Assistant Professor
My employment period
The official signature of the President of University of Tsukuba
[Faculty ID card]
3. I uploaded my faculty ID card but it rejected because the ID does not contain my position written on the ID.
(my university ID design is based on color and they do not write your position)
Other Issues and Suggestions.
I noticed the result of pictures taken with device camera, be it with phone and laptop is bad.
I do not think the issue is camera-because I tried with my cellphone camera-Google Pixel 7 Pro.
If I use camera after the pop up, I think the image quality became blurry.
If I use my cell phone camera, it was okay.
I do not know why this issue exists. Is there anyone noticed this issue, too?
Please remove the upload button if we must take our documents with the device camera.
The instructions mentioned we could upload multiple documents but I do not fully understand because every time I uploaded a document, then my application has finished. If so, how could I upload multiple documents?
Could someone or a GitHub Education team member help me?
Thank you so much in advance for your help and support .
Sincerely,
Donny
